The Brewers have selected college shortstop Eric Brown of Coastal Carolina in the first round of the Major League Baseball Draft.
The 20-round process started Sunday night in Los Angeles and will run through Tuesday.
Brown hit .330 with an OPS of 1.044 for the Chanticleers.
He was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year.
Scouts say the 5′ 10″, 190-pounder has the skills to stay at shortstop as a professional.
