Election season seems to have turned into a time when the worst in people comes to the surface.
Each year, political signs advocating for various candidates are placed in people’s yards, and every year it seems like more and more are stolen or vandalized.
While a Ron Johnson sign in Green Bay that was spray painted with a vulgar message is getting a fair amount of attention, people from both sides of the political aisle have been known to damage or take political signs.
On the same train of thought, some people create inflammatory signs pointed at a candidate.
A prime example is in the 2020 presidential election when a sign appeared with vulgar language on Memorial Drive in Manitowoc.
Leaders on both sides of the political aisle have condemned the vandalism and vulgar signs, yet they continue.
In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., “Love is the most durable power in the world.”
