During this past week’s House Oversight Committee’s Subcommittee on National Security hearing, Ranking Member Grothman stressed the importance of protecting our veterans from scams, like robocalls, and phone apps that target highly-sensitive personal information.
During his opening statement, Grothman had a very strong statement for those responsible for scamming veterans, saying “There is no hell too hot for those people who would target our veterans with one of these rip-off schemes.”
He went on to explain that con artists are more likely to target veterans, the military, and their families than the average American.
He went on to say “We must swiftly bring these con artists to justice and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.”
