It would appear that the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the West Michigan Whitecaps are very evenly matched.
The Caps toppled the Rattlers last night in a 10-inning matchup 8-7.
The Rattlers trailed 7-5 entering the 7th inning, but with the bases loaded, Tristan Peters came up big, driving a single to left field to bring home two runs.
Neither team scored in the 8th and 9th innings, and the Rattlers were kept scoreless in the 10th, but a walk-off single to dead center gave the home team the victory.
Only one of the four pitchers used by the Rattlers had a good outing, as reliever Brady Schaneul pitched three and one-third innings while allowing only one hit.
Jose Acosta led the way offensively for Wisconsin as he went 2 for 4 and crossed home plate twice.
The Rattlers will try to even the series tonight in game four of the 6 game set.
First pitch at LMCU Ballpark is scheduled for 5:35 p.m., as is Saturday’s matchup.
The final game of the series on Sunday will begin at 1:00 p.m. after which the Rattlers will have a rare four-day break.
