UW Manitowoc men’s and women’s basketball teams both traveled to UW Washington County in West Bend last night for a double header. The women started the night off, with the Lady Blue Devils capturing the victory 67-61. Manitowoc was led by Lincoln High grad, Nicole Parrish, who earned a double-double, 20 points and 11 rebounds. Coach Mike Schmidt said 4 other players added 10 points apiece: Alyssa Kliment, Alissa Schramm, Kelsey Stadler, and Morgan Isaacson. Manitowoc is now 1-3, and 1-0 in conference, and will host UW-Fond Du Lac Saturday afternoon at 1:00.
Latter in the night, the UW Manitowoc men got stomped by UW Washington County 106-64. The Wildcats, who now sit at 13-1, opened up a 54-32 halftime lead. The Blue Devils, now at 6-9, had two players in double figures: Rudy Montoya had 13 points and 8 rebounds while TJ Schneider chipped in 11 points. Coach Neil Hall’s club will meet UW Fond Du Lac on Saturday at 2:45 PM, as a part of another double header with the women.
