The man accused of hiding a corpse in Calumet County back in 1983 has had his charges dismissed.
John Andrews of Chilton was charged with Hiding a Corpse earlier this year after the remains of Starkie Swenson were uncovered in High Cliff State Park back in September.
Andrews’ defense team submitted a motion to dismiss the charge stating that Hiding a Corpse was not a charge that existed when Swenson disappeared.
They also argued that the statute of limitations on that charge is 6 years, and the remains were found 38 years after the fact.
The judge agreed, and the charge was dropped.
Prosecutors say Swenson and Andrews were involved in a love triangle.
Andrews killed Swenson with his vehicle and pleaded guilty to a charge of Homicide by Negligent Use of a Motor Vehicle in 1994.
