The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers simply could not score last night and fell to the West Michigan White Caps 1-0.
Rattler pitcher Antoine Kelly had a solid start, going three innings while only allowing one runner on base, whom he walked while striking out 2 batters.
Joey Matulovich also had a good three-inning outing in relief, allowing two hits while striking out three batters.
However, James Meeker came on to close out the final three innings but gave up a double and a run-scoring single in the bottom of the 9th to give the White Caps the win.
Jose Acosta was the only Wisconsin batter to get on base more than once as he went 2 for 3 at the plate.
The two teams will battle it out again today (July 13th) as Israel Puello looks to continue his solid start on the mound.
First pitch at LMCU ballpark is scheduled for 11:05 this morning.
