The Wisconsin Senate has refused to confirm the leaders of the state’s Elections and Ethics commissions by a vote along party lines. Tuesday’s vote was 18-13 against both Michael Haas and Brian Bell. Haas and Bell worked for the Government Accountability Board which investigated Governor Scott Walker and some conservative groups. Republicans disbanded the G-A-B in 2015. The two bipartisan commissions voted unanimously to keep Haas and Bell as leaders, but Republican senators disagreed.
