A couple of weeks ago we ran a story regarding a grant received by the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation for the expansion of broadband internet access.
While we did not mention that there is a grant matching program in place, some news outlets have incorrectly stated that the SCEDC would be supplying those matching funds.
In order to stop the misinformation from continuing to spread, the SCEDC has released a spreadsheet that clarifies that three local organizations are actually footing that payment.
The Village of Random Lake has pledged $686,000 toward the $1.36 million project, while the Random Lake School District is pledging $90,000.
Random Lake’s Bertram Communications LLC has also pledged a $423,000 cash donation and an in-kind donation of $607,000.
These donations bring the total amount of money available for the project up to $3.12 million.
