The Manitowoc American Legion baseball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to nip host Kewaunee County 3-2 last night (July 5th).
Held to only 1 hit through 6 innings and down to their final three outs, Manager Kevin Stengel’s club would get a leadoff walk by catcher Reece Stangel, a single from Brock Peterson, and then a 3-run opposite-field homer off of the bat of Ridge Guyette.
Winning Pitcher Ashton Portmann retired the home side of the 7th to wind up with a complete game 5-hitter, which also included a walk and 6 strikeouts.
Manitowoc, now 10-3 on the season, is scheduled to play in Marinette tonight.
First pitch is at 7:00 p.m.
