A former Green Bay prison guard may be looking to take a plea deal.
Shane Nolan is accused of throwing Dessiray Koss into a fire pit last year during a 4th of July party.
Witnesses claim that he called Koss a homophobic slur before grabbing her by the ribs and throwing her into the fire.
The two reportedly got into a physical fight after she got out of the fire, during which Nolan allegedly choked Koss.
The deal on the table could reduce the severity of his charges, which at this time are Substantial Battery, Intentionally Causing Great Bodily Harm, and Disorderly Conduct, each as a Hate Crime.
This deal reportedly would eliminate the hate crime enhancers, and the substantial battery charge, which is a felony.
He will be in court at 8:30 this morning (July 5th) for his plea hearing.
