It was a night of missed opportunities.
Visiting Green Bay Southwest nipped Manitowoc 6-5 last night in American Legion varsity baseball at Municipal Field.
The big story for the home team was 14 runners left on base, which included leaving the bases loaded in the 6th and stranding 2 more runners in the final frame.
Legion starter Travis Kohlmann took the loss after allowing all 6 runs in 5 and two-third innings.
Offensively, Hilbert’s Ridge Guyette and Kiel’s Dan Schmitz each went 2 for 3 for Manitowoc, which drops to 8-3.
Next up for Manager Kevin Stangel and company is a scheduled doubleheader at home tomorrow (July 2nd) against the Valders/Reedsville Legion team, beginning at noon.
