The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers beat the Cedar Rapids Kernels in back-to-back games for the first time this season with a 2-1 victory last night.
The Rattlers were able to get on the board in the 2nd inning when with Tristan Peters standing on first, Darrien Miller came up to bat.

Miller ended up going 2-3 on the day, but that would be the only scoring play by the Rattlers.
Israel Puello had a solid debut on the mound, as he struck out 7 batters in five innings, while only giving up 3 hits.
The only blemish on his stat sheet was a solo home run hit by Wander Javier in the 5th.
Christian Tripp and James Meeker came on in relief, only allowing 3 more hits between them, and Cam Robinson shut the door for his 19th save of the season.
With the win, the Rattlers stay 1 game behind the South Bend Cubs in the second half of the season and pull to 3.5 games behind the Kernels in the West Division’s overall standings.
The Rattlers and Kernels will square off again tonight for game four of their series.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. on Margaritaville Night at Fox Cities Stadium.
