
Milwaukee city leaders are starting to ask some pointed questions of the Office of Violence Prevention – like, what are we getting for our $5.6 million?
Alderman Mark Borkowski points out that the city set a homicide record two years ago, broke it last year, and are 30 homicides ahead of that pace now.
Borkowski says Milwaukee isn’t seeing positive results.
City leaders say programs must be evaluated to determine if they are successful or not.
If they’re not then they are discontinued.
Members of the Public Safety and Health Committee say they want to see evidence of progress.
