The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers had a rain-induced doubleheader yesterday against the Cedar Rapids Kernels, where they lost the continued matchup from the day before 6-2 but won the second game 3-1.
The Rattlers were down 5-0 when play was suspended on Tuesday and couldn’t dig themselves out of that hole.
However, on the day, they outscored the Kernels 5-2.
Rattler shortstop Ethan Murray had a good day at the plate. He picked up four hits in eight plate appearances, and scored a run, while Zavier Warren had three RBIs on the day.
Justin Jarvis had a solid start in game two, striking out 10 in his five innings of work while only allowing one hit, which was a one-run homer.
That was the only hit allowed all game.
The Rattlers will look to win back-to-back games against the Kernels for the first time all season tonight, with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
Israel Puello is scheduled to make his first start for the Appleton-based ballclub, as he takes on Cade Povich on Video Game Night at Fox Cities Stadium.
