The Wisconsin Supreme Court is to rule Wednesday on a lawsuit that seeks to force Frederick Prehn off the Natural Resources Board.
Former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker appointed Prehn to the seat on the board.
His term ended in May 2021, but the Wausau dentist has refused to step aside.
He points to a precedent that lets appointees continue serving until the state Senate confirms a successor.
The Wisconsin Senate has never taken action on the person nominated to take Prehn’s place on the board that sets policy for the DNR.
