
Nearly four and a half years after the death of an infant in Two Rivers, the man accused of killing the child is in front of a jury this week.
Matthew Brown-Edwards is facing charges of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, Child Abuse Recklessly Causing Great Harm, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Officers with the Two Rivers Police Department were first called to a home on January 17th, 2018 on a report of an infant that was not breathing and was unconscious.
The 2-month-old child was flown to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, where she later died.
Police determined that the child was injured after Brown-Edwards Shook her, and dropped her.
He noted that the young girl was not moving, but said that he put her back in her swing for the rest of the afternoon.
When the mother came home and noticed that the infant was not breathing, she called 911.
His trial began yesterday (June 27th) and will last through Friday.
