Beloit High School Student Arrested For Bringing Gun To School

Police arrested a 14-year-old student at Beloit Memorial High School Tuesday when he was found in possession of an unloaded handgun and a facsimile firearm.  The teen’s name hasn’t been released.  A school resource officer was told about the weapons and they were found in a search of the student’s backpack.  The high school went on a brief, “soft” lockdown while police took the teenager into custody.  He was taken to the Rock County Youth Service Center in Janesville for processing.
