Some more details have been released regarding the Roncalli Middle School teacher who was found to be taking photos of his female students.
As previously reported, 36-year-old Gregory Melin was apprehended by Sheboygan Police after he was caught taking photos of underage girls at a beach.
While searching his phone, officers found nine photos that appeared to be taken in a classroom setting.
These photos were all of the 7th and 8th-grade girls’ genital area or rear end and were taken without the victim’s knowledge or consent.
Melin admitted to taking the pictures for his own personal use and told the Manitowoc Police Department that he knew they were all underage.
Melin also admitted to talking with the students about topics related to sex.
Melin believed he took around 50 photos in the classroom, but the Sheboygan Police Department claims there could be as many as 1,100 photos.
As of 9:30 this morning, charges have not been filed in Manitowoc County, but the Police Department is recommending a charge of Representation Depicting Nudity, and six counts of Disorderly Conduct.
