The Manitowoc American Legion Baseball team jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and rolled from there for an 11-5 road win over Ashwaubenon.
Hilbert’s Ridge Guyette ripped a 2 run homer and a double to pace the offensive attack for Manager Kevin Stangel’s club.
Dan Schmitz doubled and tripled and scored 3 runs, Reece Stangel went 1 for 3 with a double, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored and Alex Lensmeyer added a pair of hits and 2 runs batted in.
Stangel utilized five pitchers in the game with starter Ashton Portmann earning the win with two perfect innings.
He was followed to the mound by Nathan Stephany, Jacob Gallagher, Ryan Dewane, and August Hecker.
Manitowoc will take a 5 and 1 record into the Marinette Tournament this weekend.
Their first game is Friday afternoon (June 24th) at 2:30 p.m. against Menominee, Michigan.
