A man sentenced to life in prison for a cold-case double murder wound up serving 11 months before he died this week.
DNA evidence led authorities to Raymand Vanniewenhoven three years ago.
He was connected to the 1976 killings of David Schuldes and Ellen Matheys in Marinette County.
He had raised a family, worked a job, and lived for 42 years after the double-killing.
Vanniewenhoven was arrested three years ago and a jury found him guilty last July.
He was 85 years old when he died in state prison.
