Craig Counsell has set the franchise record for wins by a Brewers manager in his team’s 10-2 decision over the New York Mets Wednesday.
Counsell has 564 victories as manager, one more than Phil Garner. Milwaukee won for just the third time in the last 14 games by blowing a 3-1 game wide open with a seven-run rally in the fifth inning.
Willy Adames and Luis Urias knocked in two runs apiece and Corbin Burnes picked up his fourth pitching win with six strong innings.
The Brewers will try to claim the rubber game of the three-game series behind Aaron Ashby tonight at Citi Field.
