A fire in Appleton caused significant damage to a home in the 100 block of Atlantic Street.
The call came in reporting the fire at around 7:45 p.m., and the caller noted that the residents were evacuating the home.
Heavy smoke was reported to be billowing from the second story of the home.
Crews located the fire in the attic and had it under control in around 15 minutes.
As of last word, the cause of the fire is not known, but the Appleton Fire Department did say that it caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.
The American Red Cross is assisting those affected by the fire.
