Republican leaders of the Wisconsin Legislature won’t object to new state standards for so-called “forever chemicals” in drinking water.
The Natural Resources Board suggested the standards earlier this year.
They will be implemented by the DNR.
The manmade chemicals are used in a variety of applications including firefighting foam, non-stick cookware, and packaging.
Researchers have linked them to several cancers.
They largely enter the human body through drinking water.
