Governor Tony Evers has pardoned another 56 people, and a man from Sheboygan is on the list.
Kevin Martin was 19 years old in 1997 when he was arrested for growing marijuana.
He is now 44-years-old, and according to the Governor’s statement, is an active volunteer in the Sheboygan community.
While this pardon will not remove the conviction from his record, Martin will now be able to serve on a jury, hold public office, and do other things he couldn’t as a convicted felon.
Governor Evers has granted a total of 554 pardons during his time in office, including a Manitowoc woman convicted of taking funds from a store where she worked as a young adult.
