
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers had half a three-run lead entering the bottom half of the 6th inning last night, but could not hold on.
The Beloit Sky Carp scored a run in both the 6th and 7th innings and took the lead with a three-run 8th to secure a 6-4 win.
Russel Smith had a decent start on the mound, striking out 8 batters through five and two-thirds innings, but he did give up two runs on seven hits.
Robbie Baker came on in relief and gave up one run, and closer Cam Robinson failed to secure the win, giving up the final three runs on two hits.
At the plate, Tyler Black was the only batter to pick up multiple hits for the Rattlers, who only put six balls in play, compared to 13 by the Sky Carp.
The two teams are back at it tonight for game two of their series.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., with Antoine Kelly slotted to start for the Rattlers.
