
With the deadline for submitting nomination papers expiring on June 1st at 5:00 p.m., the Fall ballot for Manitowoc County Sheriff, Coroner, and Clerk of Circuit Court is now set.
According to a news release from County Clerk Jessica Backus, Incumbent Sheriff Dan Hartwig, a Republican, will be running unopposed as he seeks his 2nd term in office.
Incumbent Coroner Curt Green, a Democrat, also doesn’t have opposition.
Green became coroner in 2010 and is seeking his 4th, four-year term.
Incumbent Clerk of Circuit Court Lynn Zigmunt does have an opponent in her bid to retain a seat she’s held since 2005.
Zigmunt, a Democrat, is being challenged in November by April Higgins, who’s running as a Republican.
Higgins has worked in the clerk of court office for eight and a half years.
Other offices on the November 8th election ballot in Manitowoc County include the U.S Senate, Representative for 6th District Congress, Governor/Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, State Senate Districts 1 and 9, and all Assembly Districts.
