
A Green Bay man has been convicted in the deaths of three people on Lombardi Avenue in 2020.
24-year-old Abdi Ahmed was in Brown County Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to three counts of 2nd Degree Reckless Homicide.
He was initially charged with three counts of 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, but the charges were amended as a part of the plea deal.
Instead of facing 180 years in prison, Ahmed is now facing a maximum of 75 years in prison, plus a fine of up to $300,000.
Ahmed was driving at speeds of around 95 miles per hour on Lombardi Avenue on June 28th, 2020, when he slammed into a vehicle.
The crash killed 28-year-old Jesse L. Saldana, 27-year-old Sonia D. Gonzalez-Guillen, and 57-year-old Sonia V. Gonzalez.
Ahmed will be sentenced on August 8th.
