On 06-03-22, at approximately 12:47 pm, Officers of the Manitowoc Police Department were dispatched to the area of the Baymont Inn, located at 101 Maritime Drive for the report of a male subject who was struggling to swim in Lake Michigan.
Upon Officer’s arrival, the male subject could not be located. Manitowoc Fire and Rescue immediately deployed two water craft, and began searching the area. Assistance was provided by the Manitowoc County Dive Team, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the United States Coast Guard.
At approximately 5:50 pm, the body of a male subject was located in Lake Michigan and recovered. No further information is being released at this time, as this is an ongoing investigation.
