
In Boys Golf yesterday, Kohler edged Roncalli in a one hole playoff at the Division-3 Sectional at The Oaks in Cottage Grove.
By doing so, the Blue Bombers advance along with team champion Cambridge to the WIAA State Golf Tournament next week at their home course, Blackwolf Run.
Roncalli and Kohler both finished regulation with a score of 327, 19 strokes behind the winner. The Jets were paced individually by John Oberbroeckling and Will Falconer both of whom shot an 8 over par 79.
Kohler’s Everett Schroeder captured medalist honors in a playoff with St. Mary Catholic’s Spencer Lynch after both carded an even-par 71. Lynch earned a state berth as an individual qualifier.
Meanwhile, Sheboygan North and Fond du lac finished one-two yesterday at the Division-1 Boys Golf Sectional and by doing so, qualified for the WIAA State Meet at Blackwolf Run in Kohler.
Manitowoc Lincoln placed 4th behind Neenah in Tuesday’s 18-hole event at Washington County Golf Course in Hartford.
Mason Schmidtke of the Golden Raiders was meet medalist with a 3 over par 75, 3 strokes better than teammate Hogan Miller who tied for 4th with a 78.
Landon Stanislowski had the Ships best showing with an 82, that saw him finish in a 4-way tie for 8th. Evan Dombrowski carded an 83.
In a Division-2 Sectional at Broadlands Golf Club at North Prairie: Sheboygan Falls placed just out of the running for a state berth, winding up 3rd in the team standings.
Xavier and University School of Milwaukee ended up qualifying for next Monday and Tuesday’s competition in Kohler.
Andrew Kettle of the Falcons was an individual state qualifier after tying for medalist honors with an 18-hole score of 73.
Kiel and Oostburg wound up 9th and 10th, respectively in the team category.
Ayden Long of the Flying Dutchmen finished in a 4-way tie for 21st with an 83, while sophomore Parker Dallman led the Raiders with a 90.
