The Milwaukee Common Council approved the framework for a contract with the party’s national committee Wednesday.
Mayor Cavalier Johnson signed off on it.
Milwaukee and Nashville are finalists in the competition to host the major national event that could bring in as much as $200-million in economic impact to the winner.
A final decision is expected by the middle of this month.
