6th District Congressman Glen Grothman is reporting that April was the worst month on record for illegal border crossings.
In a statement to Seehafer News, the Glenbeulah Congressman said that “An estimated 234,088 illegal migrants were encountered at the Southwest border in April.”
Of those immigrants, 184,000 remain in the U.S., nearly 118,000 of which were reported as humanitarian releases.
That number is up 47 percent from March of this year, while an additional 8,600 unaccompanied children were released to sponsors.
He also said that an estimated 58,000 immigrants evaded border patrol agents altogether.
In response to these record numbers, Grothman said, “Encouraging lawlessness along the border only benefits Cartels who are lining their pockets through well-coordinated human smuggling and drug trafficking operations… I beg President Biden and the leaders of the Majority parties in both the Senate and House to take action to secure the southern border.”
