
The Milwaukee Brewers held on for a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday night, their third win in a row.
The Brewers started the scoring in the top of the first when Luis Urias hit a solo home run, his fourth of the season.
Later in the inning with two outs Tyrone Taylor drove in a run with a single, his 19th RBI.
Eric Lauer gave up two runs to the Cardinals in the bottom of the first inning but shut St. Louis down over his final four innings.
In the top of the second, the Brewers took the lead back on a Christian Yelich RBI single.
Andrew McCutchen singled in a run in the fourth to give Milwaukee a two-run lead.
Four Brewers relievers allowed just a single run over the final four innings to secure the win.
Game two of the four-game series in St. Louis will be aired on 107.9 FM WOMT at 6:40 tonight.
The Brewers lead the Cardinals by 4.5 games in the N.L. Central.
