The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin has issued twelve grants to help medical organizations.
Aurora Health Care Inc was one of the groups to receive a portion of the $790,000.
They will be getting $53,757 to purchase five retinal cameras for use in the screening of diabetic patients.
A couple of other organizations have also asked for money to get items to help treat diabetics.
All of the grants are going toward telecommunications equipment to enhance access to medical care in rural or underserved areas, for people with disabilities, or promote technologically advanced medical services.
Funding for the Medical Telecommunications Equipment Program comes from the Universal Service Fund, which provides up to $500,000 per fiscal year for grants.
