In local girls’ softball yesterday, Two Rivers edged out Valders 1-0.
The winning Raiders end up EWC co-champions with Chilton, with both teams ending up 12-2 in the conference and 14-2 overall.
Elsewhere, De Pere snuck past Manitowoc Lincoln 5-4.
The Redbirds rallied for 4 unearned runs in the home half of the 7th to win it.
Karenna Sorenson suffered the loss for the Ships, while Kailee Ansorge and Lizzy Stuebs had 2 hits apiece.
The other local game of interest saw Brillion blast Manitowoc Lutheran 15-4.
There’s also a major youth softball tournament in Two Rivers this weekend.
As part of his City Manager’s Report this week, Greg Buckley pointed out that the Wisconsin Heat Girls Fastpitch Tournament will take place at Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park.
The multiple team tournament is scheduled to begin Friday and conclude on Sunday.
