This Saturday is Armed Forces Day, and the American Legion Post in St. Nazianz is looking to celebrate.
They will be at Shadows Bar in School Hill from 10:00 until 2:00 p.m. where they will honor our local veterans and their families.
Vets will get a free lunch and half-price drinks, but the public is also welcome to attend.
Legion Post 477 will also be presenting a $1,000 donation check to the folks with the Honor Flight, which brings aging veterans to Washington D.C.
The vets, who served between WWII and Vietnam, are taken to Arlington National Cemetery, and numerous military monuments around our nation’s capital.
Another $500 check will be presented to Camp Sinawa at Pigeon Lake for their Cinema at Sinawa program.
Veterans will also be able to speak with several local organizations, such as the Veteran Service Office, Dogs 2 Dog Tags, the American Legion, VFW, DAV, and Combat Motorcycle Veterans.
