When Green Bay police were told a man had been making threats Wednesday, a nearby elementary school was put on lockdown. Police say there was a brief standoff before the man surrendered. He is now being evaluated. The Green Bay Area Public School District says Jefferson Elementary was placed on lockdown as a precaution. Classes were dismissed at the regular time, but parents or guardians were required to pick up students who normally walk home. Teachers and staff members stayed at the school until all the students were picked up.
