A police officer in Fond du Lac was honored recently in Washington D.C.
Officer Joseph Kurer passed away in September after succumbing to COVID-19 at the age of 26.
Kurer reportedly contracted the virus while on duty and left behind two young children.
His family and colleagues were on hand at the nation’s capital as his name was engraved on the National Law Enforcement Memorial.
His name is one of over 22,000 names etched into the wall, and one of 619 added this year alone.
Each year, the names of all police officers in the Country that died in the line of duty are added to the wall just prior to National Police Week.
