In an attempt to help tout the importance of installing sprinkler systems in your home, the Sheboygan Fire Department is participating in Home Fire Sprinkler Week this week.
Battalion Chief Nicholas Noster said that this move will “send a powerful message locally and nationally that every new home constructed is an opportunity to help end the home fire problem.”
He went on to explain that home fire sprinklers work automatically and very effectively, making a safe escape possible.
Sprinklers are not a replacement for smoke detectors but are rather an added safety measure to help keep residents and their homes safe.
