
The top-ranked and defending champion Mishicot Girls Softball team dropped its first game of the season at the Ashwaubenon Softball Classic Saturday.
The Indians lost a 6-4 decision to the host Jaguars before blanking Waukesha North 4-0 in the tourney.
Sophomore Cora Stodola earned the win over the North Stars on a 3-hit shutout that saw her strike out 4 without issuing a walk in 5-innings.
Stodola also helped herself at the plate by going 2-for-2 including a home run, a double, and 2-RBI.
Freshman teammate Karsyn Krause also homered and drove in 2 runs.
In the opener, Mishicot was limited to just 4 hits, and losing pitcher Ashlyn Bennin was reached for 4 earned runs on 8 hits.
The Indians, now 8-and-1 on the season, are scheduled to host Oostburg on Thursday.
