
For the second consecutive series, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers fell one game short of a sweep over the weekend.
After taking the first 5 games of their series with the Quad Cities River Bandits, the Davenport Iowa-based Bandits dismantled the Rattlers yesterday at Fox Cities Stadium 18-1.
The accumulation of five home runs, two of which were from second baseman Herald Gonzalez, chased six Rattlers pitchers off the mound.
The only Rattler’s run came in the sixth inning off of the bat of shortstop Ethan Murray.
Despite the loss, the Rattlers are currently in second place in the Midwest League’s West Division, only one game behind the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
The Appleton-based Rattlers have a day off today to lick their wounds before traveling to Dozer Park in Peoria Illinois to start a six-game series with the Peoria Chiefs.
The Chiefs are currently 5 games behind the Rattlers in the West Division standings and are coming off of a six-game series with Cedar Rapids where they lost 5 games to 1.
