The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers were unable to complete a six-game sweep of the Beloit Sky Carp over the weekend, as they lost in the last two games of the series, each by one run.
On Saturday, the Rattlers took a 3-1 lead into the 8th inning before giving up a pair of runs, and the walk-off in the 9th to give Beloit their first win of the year.
Then on Sunday, the Sky Carp was able to quell any chance of a comeback in the 9th, with Robinson Martinez earning the save, and securing the 3-2 victory.
The bats simply weren’t working for the Appleton-based Rattlers, as they accumulated five hits over the two games while giving up 12 to the home team.
The Timber Rattlers will take today off before starting another six-game series at Fox Cities Stadium against the Quad Cities River Bandits.
The Rattlers will enter the home series with a 6-2 record, while the River Bandits will look to break above .500 and improve their 4-5 record.
