One week after a first recount led to Sheboygan’s 10th Aldermanic District race to be determined by the drawing of cards, another recount has been ordered.
The race was initially won by Joseph Heidemann, who was reported to have collected 403 votes, just one more than the incumbent, Andre Walton.
However, the initial recount found that a previously rejected absentee vote for Walton was found to be valid, tying up the score.
Now, Walton is calling for another recount, as he believes that issue could have also occurred in wards 19 and 20, which are also a part of District 10.
The recount will be taking place this morning at 9:00 a.m. in Sheboygan’s City Hall.
