A Manitowoc man is facing numerous charges after a standoff with police.
Officers were dispatched to Walmart at around 7:30 p.m. on Friday to arrest the 37-year-old man on outstanding warrants.
When the man saw officers approaching, he got in his van and began to flee.
The officers pursued the man throughout town, but he did get away for a short time.
The suspect’s mother called police at around 7:45, noting that he was outside her home in the 4900 block of Nicyssa Lane, located just southwest of the intersection of Rapids Road and Menasha Avenue.
The man was in the rear of his van and refused to exit, despite the officers’ demands, and threats to use Tasers and pepper balls.
At one point the man removed his clothes and displayed his genitals to the officers.
The officers broke a window to the van and deployed pepper balls into the vehicle, but the man still refused to exit.
He finally cooperated once K9 Neko arrived on the scene, and the officers threatened to send Neko in after him.
As of now, the man has been charged with Resisting an Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and three counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
