Wisconsin residents are being encouraged to take action posthaste if behind on their household energy bills.
Wisconsin Public Service issued a media advisory on Thursday to encourage customers that the best course of action is to contact them, to avoid disconnection.
The state’s residential disconnection moratorium expires on April 15.
To help customers avoid the worst-case scenario of losing service, WPS is willing to allow customers to establish and maintain payment plans. If the agreements remain in good standing, disconnection will no longer be a risk.
WPS notes in their release that they have worked year-round to offer such payment plans, leaving less than 1% of customers at risk for disconnection.
Those who are behind on their bill are encouraged to either visit WisconsinPublicService.com, download the WPS mobile app or simply call (800) 450-7260.
