Joel D. Taff, 68, of Manitowoc, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison.
He was born on October 2, 1953 in Milwaukee to the late Duane and Marian (Gnadt) Taff. Joel attended John Marshall High School in Milwaukee and went on to attend U.W. – Milwaukee. He married Gail Sobczak in Milwaukee on August 2, 1975.
Joel enjoyed the water and sailing out of the Manitowoc Marina. He was a baseball fan, especially of the Milwaukee Brewers, and loved to cook. As an organ transplant recipient Joel was a supporter of organ and blood donation. Family was very important to Joel and he was active in the lives of his children as soccer coach, softball coach, and PTA President.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Taff of Manitowoc; daughters, Jenny Taff of Milwaukee, Katie Taff (Josh Backes) of Milwaukee, and Annie Taff (Nate Campbell) of Madison; four grandchildren, Addie Taff, Charlie Backes, Nola Campbell, and Miles Campbell; brother, Tim (Dena) Taff of Milwaukee; sister, Mary Lou Taff of Manitowoc; and other relatives and friends.
A Life Celebration Social will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the funeral home.
