Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels
As one might expect, Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels is quite happy following the recent announcement of a major expansion project in the Industrial Park.
As we recently reported, the Kaysun Corporation will be adding 55,000 square feet of additional manufacturing space, and 10,000 square feet of office space in the near future.
Nickels told Seehafer News that when they learned that Kaysun was looking to expand, the City did everything they could to ensure the expansion stayed local.
“We worked with them as a City to help with TIF financing just to ensure that the expansion does take place here in Manitowoc and that the new jobs created will remain local,” the mayor explained. “They are looking at about 75 more jobs over the next few years.”
This project continues the recent tradition of filling out the industrial park, with Ammo Inc. and the Dramm Corporation breaking ground on their buildings over the past couple of years.
“It will be a great expansion in what is now continuing to be a full Industrial Park with businesses continuing to grow and expand,” Nickels said. “Kaysun is…a great local company and we are excited that they want to continue to grow in Manitowoc.”
Construction is expected to begin in July with A.C.E. Building Service receiving the contract for the project.
