The Bay-Lakes Council of the Boy Scouts of America will be collecting non-perishable foods this weekend.
The event, known as Scouting for Food, is scheduled for Saturday.
The Scouts have already been out and about placing informational hangers on the door handles of homes, which explain how people can get involved.
Your role is simple, place foods such as canned soups, veggies, and pasta in a bag, and hang it on your door by no later than 8:00 a.m.
Scouts will then go around collecting the bags Saturday morning and will give the food to area food pantries.
If your bag is missed on Saturday, you are encouraged to bring your donations to your local food pantry, or to Festival Foods.
This is the 34th Annual Scouting for Food event.
