
Some early reports indicate Wisconsin’s spring non-partisan general election went smoothly Tuesday.
Polls were open from 7:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m.
The biggest prize may have been the mayor’s office in Milwaukee where acting mayor Cavalier Johnson gets the permanent position.
He has served in the office since Tom Barrett left late last year to become the U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg.
The 35-year-old is the first African-American mayor in Milwaukee history.
Hundreds of positions and referenda were decided by the usual low turnout of voters.
Final figures on that will be available today or Thursday.
