
The results may be unofficial, but if the numbers are accurate, some major changes are coming to the Manitowoc Public School District and Manitowoc County Board.
Starting with the MPSD, Matthew Phipps was the top vote-getter, followed by Matthew Spaulding, and Tony Vlastelica, meaning incumbents Lisa Johnston, Meredith Sauer, and Board President Dave Nickels are all out.
There were also four sitting County Board members that were ousted as well. In District Two, Timothy Jadowski beat Dave Nickels by 66 votes, while Paul Hacker received 167 more votes in District 8 than incumbent Mike Williams.
Meanwhile, Jamie Aulik lost his District 11 seat to Ryan Phipps by a 277-vote margin, and in District 24, Charles Hagen Sr. fell to Don Weiss 264-158.
In Two Rivers, Scott Stechmesser, Bill LeClair, and Tim Petri earned full three-year terms on the City Council, while Jason Ring will finish out a two-year partial term.
Also, Gary Shavlik, Jennifer Henrickson, Tim Klinkner, and Nicole Benthein were elected to the Board of Education.
In Kiel, the three candidates named to the Board of Education were Diana Sitzman Schaefer, Jamie Henschel, and Tony Johannes, while John Ebert earned a spot on the Reedsville Board of Education
County Clerk Jessica Backus reports that 25% of eligible voters went to the polls in Manitowoc County.
